Drought is defined as a period of time when there is not a sufficient amount of water to meet agricultural, urban or environmental needs. Consequences of long-term drough include wildfires, loss of agriculture, disease, thirst, famine, social unrest and even war. Currently Australia and China are suffering from significant periods of drought.
